Dmitry Chernyshenko took part in the opening ceremony of the sculpture "Russian Journalists"
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko took part in the opening ceremony of the "Russian Journalists" sculpture.
"President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has repeatedly emphasized that journalism in our country is called upon to consolidate society, educate, enlighten, and tell the truth. It's crucial that our journalists truly embody all the values that are accepted in Russia and, in the only country in the world, enshrined in a separate decree on traditional spiritual and moral values. Our journalists fully embody these values: they are committed to fairness, reject untruth, and report exactly what they see and what is happening," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
He thanked the journalists for their work and especially the war correspondents who cover the SVO and the exploits of our soldiers.
Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized the symbolism of the sculpture's unveiling in front of the TASS building, which is more than 120 years old.
"Over the years, TASS has set the standard for professionalism and information quality, boasting a vast database of video and photo resources. We are grateful to the agency, as it continues to provide high-quality coverage of the Government's work, the implementation of national projects commissioned by our President, and its work in all areas of journalism," the Deputy Prime Minister added.
The sculpture "Russian Journalists" was installed in Moscow's TASS Square in front of the agency's headquarters. It became the first architectural structure in Russia dedicated to the journalistic profession and all active members of Russian media.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Andrei Kondrashov, Director General of the TASS news agency.
The sculptural composition consists of three figures: a reporter with a microphone, a photojournalist, and a videographer. They reflect the work of journalists—obtaining information and photographing and filming events. The artist is sculptor and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Ivanov.
