SHENZHEN, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) — A new international air route connecting the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen with Manado, Indonesia, was launched on Friday, marking the first use of a Chinese-developed passenger aircraft on an international route from Shenzhen.
The flight, operated by Indonesian airline TransNusa on a C909 aircraft, will operate three times a week. Flights depart Manado on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 9:10 PM local time and arrive in Shenzhen at 1:00 AM the following day.
Those departing from Shenzhen at 02:00 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays will land in Manado at 05:40 local time.
The launch of this route expands Shenzhen's air links with Southeast Asia, bringing the total number of destinations in Southeast Asia to 22 with direct passenger flights from Shenzhen.
Since entering commercial service in 2016, more than 160 C909 aircraft have been delivered, serving more than 10 airlines worldwide. To date, this model has successfully operated on over 700 routes and carried more than 24 million passengers.
