The State Kremlin Palace hosted a gala awards ceremony for the winners of the 2025 All-Russian professional competitions of the Russian Ministry of Education and a festive concert dedicated to Teacher's Day.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko congratulated Russian teachers on their professional holiday.
"As our President Vladimir Putin said today, teachers have led Russia forward in every historical era. You possess an amazing talent. You not only teach, but also cultivate true patriots and remarkable individuals. You do this masterfully, fulfilling the national goal set by the President of realizing the potential and talents of every person in our country. Together, we are a huge team of like-minded individuals. And together, thanks to the national project 'Youth and Children,' we are making our entire education system even better, more modern, and more effective," noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov warmly congratulated the teachers.
"Dear teachers, happy Teacher's Day! This year is significant for us. It's the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Year of Defender of the Fatherland. And today, you, education workers, are at the forefront of the information war. The future of our children and our country depends on you. We extend our sincere gratitude for your work. I wish you happiness, prosperity, success, and new achievements," Sergei Kravtsov addressed the audience.
The head of the Ministry of Education, together with Heroes of the Russian Federation and teachers participating in the SVO, performed the song "We Need One Victory."
In a ceremonial ceremony, awards were presented to the winner of the "Teacher of the Year" competition, Dmitry Balanchukov, a teacher of Chinese and English from the Belgorod Region; the winner of the "First Teacher" competition, Tamara Kotova, a primary school teacher from the Kamchatka Territory; the winner of the "Principal of the Year of Russia" competition, Maxim Astrakhantsev, director of the "Point of the Future" educational complex in Irkutsk; and the winner of the "Educator of the Year of Russia" competition, Elizaveta Bogatyreva from Moscow.
Viktor Sadovnichy, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, noted the high significance of the professional competitions of the Russian Ministry of Education.
"I've been chairing the grand jury of the Teacher of the Year competition for 30 years now. It's clear that teachers are becoming stronger every year. Our students are becoming smarter and more demanding every year. This is only natural. The competition monitors these two processes and tracks our development. We are the strongest education system in the world. I am confident that the winner, the finalists, and all the participants will play a huge role in the life of our country—they will become leading experts, teachers, and scientists," Viktor Sadovnichy told the teachers.
According to a Russian government decree, the winner of the "Teacher of the Year of Russia" competition receives a cash prize of 1 million rubles, while the runners-up receive 500,000 rubles each. The winners of the "Educator of the Year of Russia," "Principal of the Year of Russia," "First Teacher," "Educational Psychologist of Russia," "Special Education Teacher of Russia," "Master of the Year," and "I Give My Heart to Children" competitions each receive prizes of 200,000 rubles.
