The winner of the All-Russian professional competition "Teacher of the Year of Russia" was announced at the National Center "Russia" in Moscow as part of the 5th Class Teachers' Forum. The winner is Dmitry Balanchukov, a Chinese and English teacher from the Belgorod Region.
The competition winners and forum guests were greeted at a ceremony by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov.
"School should not only impart cutting-edge knowledge but also help every young person develop a solid foundation of values in life. These are the words of our President, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. It is you, dear teachers and mentors, who not only teach but also raise our children, giving them the right direction in life. I thank you for your solid knowledge, responsibility, and care for the younger generation. A special thank you to our heroes of the SVO, who have chosen the path of mentoring. Your courage, resilience, and patriotism are the qualities that become the best guide for these young people. Our shared goal is to ensure equal access to quality education throughout the country—from the largest cities to the outskirts. The Russian government is consistently working on this. A modern educational infrastructure is being created as part of the "Youth and Children" national project. Never before in the history of our country has there been such large-scale investment in educational infrastructure," said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that there must be not only a good material base, but also a moral component.
"Your forum has become a key platform for the professional community to define common values and guiding principles for youth education. This year, over a thousand homeroom teachers and vocational education group supervisors from all Russian regions participated in the event. You are a truly powerful team of experts. Colleagues from friendly countries—Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and South Ossetia—also attended the forum," he noted.
Dmitry Chernyshenko reported that the business program included many interesting meetings. They discussed such topical issues as the quality of education, character development in modern schools, the role of the homeroom teacher in shaping students' personalities, and the implementation of digital technologies. In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the forum participants on the upcoming Teacher's Day and wished them professional success, creative achievements, and the greatest possible number of talented students.
Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov noted that competitions are not simply a contest of skill, but a vital tool for developing domestic education.
"In 2025, we continued our work to create a unified ecosystem of competitions. This allows us to strengthen the professional community, share best practices, and jointly address key public policy challenges in education. By joining forces, we are creating continuity between educational levels, supporting mentoring, and identifying true leaders capable of influencing the country's educational agenda. Your experience is the foundation for educating the younger generation in the spirit of traditional Russian values," the minister greeted the finalists.
Sergey Kravtsov emphasized that each of the contestants is a true professional whose hard work, dedication, and boundless love for children shape the country's future. He emphasized that teachers nurture individuals, lay moral foundations, and teach them to think, empathize, and win.
"This victory is ours—together with my family, my school, my teachers, my students, and my Belgorod region. Along the competition path, I met a huge number of wonderful people and tried to learn from them. On the eve of Teacher's Day, I wish everyone the opportunity to learn from everyone and everything," said Dmitry Balanchukov.
He cited one expression that helped him in this competition: "If three people are going, then your teacher will definitely be among them. And even among your students."
