The work was carried out using a giant shield. "Lily" with a diameter of 10 meters, Sergei Sobyanin said on his channel in MAX messenger.

"The Liliya tunnel has traveled 850 meters beneath residential areas in the Khoroshevo-Mnevniki district. The hydrogeological conditions were quite challenging, but our specialists made it through. The shield will soon begin tunneling to the Strogino station, beneath the Moskva River floodplain and the Bolshoy Strogino Bay," the Moscow Mayor wrote.

Furthermore, today—Metro Builder's Day—shield boring began on the right-hand connecting tunnel on the Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya Line between the Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye and Ilyinskaya stations. The tunnel, which will be dug by the Sofia tunnel boring machine, will be 2.52 kilometers long.

The total length of the Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya line, which will connect the Moscow-City business center with Krasnogorsk, is 27.6 kilometers. It will have 12 stations with transfers to the Moscow Central Circle, Solntsevskaya, Filevskaya, Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya, and Big Circle metro lines.
