Baku, October 2 (Xinhua) — Nearly 300 books from 12 Chinese publishers are on display at the 11th Baku International Book Fair, which is being held from October 1 to 7 at the Baku Expo Center.
The Chinese book exhibition includes fiction, social science and children's literature, as well as Chinese language textbooks.
During the exhibition, representatives of foreign publishing circles expressed their intention to develop cooperation with their Chinese colleagues in the field of literary publishing, and Azerbaijani parents and schoolchildren examined with interest Chinese educational materials, in particular, "40 Lessons of the Basic Course of the Chinese Language."
25-year-old Nigar Aliyeva visited the exhibition for the first time and was captivated by the illustrated edition of “Chinese Myths” in Chinese.
"I was very interested in Chinese illustrated books. I hope the exhibition will feature more publications about Chinese kung fu and tea culture," she said.
The exhibition included an opening ceremony dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the publication of comics by Chinese artist Feng Zikai.
At the ceremony, the East China Normal University Press presented Chinese books, including a collection of drawings by Feng Zikai, to the Confucius Institute at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, and university students performed a Chinese dance.
The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan. Chinese books were first presented at the Baku International Book Fair in 2024. –0–
