City services specialists will install a light installation at the Luzhniki-Central Pier. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Public Utilities in the Moscow Government. Petr Biryukov.
"We are currently working on the first stage of landscaping the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. As part of the project, we are reconstructing the Luzhniki-Central Pier. It will be adorned with a glowing installation in the form of the "Luzhniki" sign, complemented by recessed flexible lighting located along the contours of the pier and amphitheater. We will also install floodlights to illuminate the potted trees," noted Pyotr Biryukov.
The pier's outdated structures were dismantled, and a pile field was installed, allowing the structure to be raised. New floor slabs were also laid, fenders were installed for mooring two pleasure boats, and space was allocated for regular electric boats.
Petr Biryukov clarified that work is currently underway to deepen the pier's bottom to ensure the safe approach and departure of vessels. At the same time, granite paving, construction of a transport pavilion, and installation of a lift for people with disabilities are underway.
In addition, specialists are repairing the granite amphitheater and installing tree pots and flower beds. Wooden decks, benches, and tables will then be installed. A designated exit area for river transport will be created on the pier, separating the flow of passengers and those relaxing in the amphitheater.
The project's main goal is to transform Luzhniki into one of the capital's finest parks, creating a modern public space that will not only host international competitions and amateur sports, but also provide opportunities for family recreation. The work is being carried out in several stages to avoid completely closing the area.
