NEW YORK, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) — Two Delta Air Lines regional jets collided while taxiing at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, U.S., on Wednesday evening, injuring one person.

According to a statement from Delta Air Lines, a "low-speed collision" occurred on the taxiway between Flight 5047, arriving from Charlotte, North Carolina, and Flight 5155, preparing to depart for Roanoke, Virginia. Both aircraft are operated by regional carrier Endeavor Air, a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.

One flight attendant was reportedly slightly injured. No passengers on board either plane were injured.

According to preliminary information, the wing of the departing plane struck the fuselage of the arriving plane. The New York City Airport Authority stated that the incident did not affect airport operations.
