Hanoi, October 2 (Xinhua) — Typhoon Bualoi, followed by flooding and landslides, has killed 34 people in Vietnam, left 20 missing, and injured 140, the Vietnam News Agency reported on Tuesday.
According to preliminary estimates, economic damage amounted to 8.78 trillion Vietnamese dong (about 356 million US dollars).
The disaster caused significant damage to infrastructure, knocking down more than 8,200 power poles, leaving nearly 2.7 million households without power, and over 3,000 roads closed due to flooding and landslides, the report noted.
Local authorities are working to verify damage data, work is underway to restore power and telecommunications, and assistance is being provided to affected residents. –0–
