Moscow, October 2 (Xinhua) — From January to August 2025, over 3.1 million foreign tourists stayed in Russian hotels, an 11.6 percent increase from the previous year, RIA Novosti reported, citing Rosstat data.

According to statistics, in January-August 2025, the number of foreign tourists staying in hotels reached 3.114 million people, while in the same period last year this figure was 2.791 million people.

Moscow is among the most popular destinations, with 1.6 million foreigners staying in hotels. Next come St. Petersburg (521,000 people), the Moscow Region (150,000 people), Primorsky Krai (almost 100,000 people), and Krasnodar Krai (97,000 people).
