Guiyang, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) — Russian athletes enthusiastically participated in the 2025 International High Bridge Skydiving Invitational Tournament, which was held recently on the Huajiang Gorge Bridge in southwest China's Guizhou Province.

The 625-meter-tall bridge opened to traffic late last month. Unsurprisingly, this structure, taller than any other bridge in the world, has attracted a great deal of attention from skydivers from around the world.

"Two months ago, I started looking forward to my trip to Guizhou Province, especially to parachute jump from the record-breaking bridge. Now that dream has come true," shared 40-year-old engineer Mikhail Kozlov from St. Petersburg. He has over 1,000 parachute jumps under his belt and is also a BASE jumper.

Along with M. Kozlov, Petr Ilin, a member of the Russian national parachute team, also experienced the height of the world's tallest bridge.

The 38-year-old athlete is delighted with his jump and plans to share videos of the majestic views of the Chinese bridge with his family and friends.

Russian Alexander Dobychin, second in the world rankings in this sport, shared his impressions of participating in the tournament.

"When I stood at the edge of the bridge, my heart was beating so fast it was practically pounding out of my chest. This feeling of magnificence is beyond words. I'll definitely be back in China next year," he shared. -0-
