Minsk, October 1 (Xinhua) — A photo exhibition showcasing the development achievements of China's Xizang Autonomous Region over the 60 years since its founding, "A New Chapter in the History of Beautiful Xizang," was held Monday at the Chinese Embassy in Belarus. It was attended by over 300 representatives from various circles of Belarusian society.
The exhibition featured 36 photographs that reflect Xizang's remarkable journey, led by the Communist Party of China, to liberate itself from feudal serfdom, resulting in millions of people achieving freedom. From a variety of perspectives—economic, social, cultural, and environmental—the photographs showcase the comprehensive progress and historic achievements in all areas of the Xizang Autonomous Region of China.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan, together with First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov, visited the exhibition. Zhang Wenchuan stated that the establishment of the Xizang Autonomous Region in September 1965 was a landmark event in the history of Xizang's development, consolidating the great achievements of its peaceful liberation and democratic reforms, bringing about a historic leap in its social system.
N. Snopkov noted that China has achieved impressive success in eradicating poverty, ensuring a happy life for millions of people. This unprecedented achievement demonstrates the powerful strategic leadership of China's leaders, as well as the hard work and wisdom of the Chinese people.
The exhibition was organized by the Chinese Embassy in Belarus, the Minsk branch of Xinhua, and China Image Group to present the international community with a true picture of Xizang's development. The exhibition was held as part of a reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
