City Services specialists replaced the asphalt pavement on Varshavskoe Shosse, one of the main thoroughfares in the south of the capital. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Public Works. Petr Biryukov.

"Maintaining Moscow's roads in good condition is a particular priority. Every year, in preparation for the autumn and winter, we organize asphalt pavement renovations. We completed road surface repairs on Varshavskoe Shosse, covering a total of 745,000 square meters. Work was carried out on both sides of the highway throughout its entire length within Moscow—from Bolshaya Tulskaya Street to the Moscow Ring Road, including the alternate roads," noted Pyotr Biryukov.

The pavement on Varshavskoe Highway was previously replaced in 2021, but its warranty period had already expired. Due to heavy traffic, localized damage and rutting developed on the roadway, which could have negatively impacted road safety.

The repairs were carried out in several stages. First, specialists milled the existing pavement, then renewed the inspection manholes and storm drain grates, and finally laid asphalt. The final stage involved applying road markings. The work was carried out primarily at night, when traffic is lighter, necessitating some traffic restrictions.

Modern technologies are used for paving roads, and local asphalt concrete mixes are produced at city plants. These plants collectively produce over two million tons of mix per season.
