The Music and Poetry Theatre, directed by Elena Kamburova, will present a performance based on Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera "Eugene Onegin." It will be performed by artists from the Ivan Popovsky Opera and Drama Studio as part of the project

The opera "Eugene Onegin," which enriched the "encyclopedia of Russian life" with its musical resonance, has become a symbol of Russian classical music. However, the creative team behind the production performs the work outside the traditional trappings of opera: without gold, brocade, ornate theater boxes, crowded crowd scenes, and grandiose sets, opting for an intimate space and a restrained approach. The authors' goal is to focus on what matters most—the soul of the work.

Directed by Elizaveta Shakhova, the production features students and graduates of Ivan Popovsky's course in the Musical Theatre Department at GITIS.

Duration: one hour 50 minutes without intermission.
