Museum of Heroism VDNKh and the Union of Cities of Military Glory are implementing a joint project, "Cities of Military Glory of Russia." The first event will be the exhibition "Petrozavodsk – City of Military Glory. Resilient. Unbroken. Alive." It is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Karelia from the German and Finnish invaders, and the 10th anniversary of Petrozavodsk being awarded the honorary title.
The idea for the "Cities of Military Glory of Russia" project emerged in the summer of 2025, when the Museum of Heroism held an outdoor exhibition of the same name, generating great interest among VDNKh visitors. It was then decided to use the Museum of Heroism as a venue to showcase each of the 47 cities awarded the title of "City of Military Glory." Petrozavodsk will be the first of these.
Visitors will be able to learn about life in the city during the Great Patriotic War and how the city preserves the memory of the events and heroes of those years. Visitors to the Museum of Heroism will see a film dedicated to this crucial topic in the country's history and will be able to explore information at 18 informational displays.
The exhibition was prepared by the Petrozavodsk City District Administration, the Osnova Charitable Foundation, and the Petrozavodsk Military Glory Center, in collaboration with VDNKh. The exhibition opens on October 2.
The Museum of Heroism at VDNKh is open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, except Mondays. It is free to visit. Guided tours are available for organized groups. To register, please submit a request atwebsite.
