Beijing, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) — The Changsha Philharmonic and the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory have agreed to establish strategic cooperation.

The framework agreement signing ceremony took place on Monday in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, central China. According to the Changsha Wanbao (Changsha Evening) newspaper, this event marks a key step in the internationalization of the Changsha Philharmonic. Music lovers not only from this city but also from other regions of central China will now have the opportunity to experience a more diverse and high-quality world-class artistic production.

Andrey Pisarev, Dean of the Piano Department of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, performed a piece by the renowned Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff at the ceremony, while the Orchestra of National Musical Instruments performed the popular Chinese folk song "Liuyanghe."

Musicians from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory are looking forward to performing on the stage of the Changsha Philharmonic, said the conservatory's rector, Alexander Sokolov.
