Belgrade, September 30 (Xinhua) – Serbia and China will strengthen cooperation to promote peace, development, and a better future. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced this on Monday at a reception to mark China's National Day, celebrated on October 1.
In his speech, A. Vučić congratulated China on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and expressed joy at the joint celebration of the 70th anniversary of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
“I am proud of the trust we have built through concrete projects and close ties between our peoples, and I am confident that Serbia and China will work together to promote peace, development, and a better future for our citizens,” the president said.
Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming praised the steady development of bilateral relations, calling the Chinese-Serbian partnership an "iron friendship" that has stood the test of time. He also noted the successes achieved through the Belt and Road Initiative.
The reception was attended by over 800 people, including politicians, businessmen, military and cultural figures of Serbia, foreign diplomats, Chinese emigrants and ethnic Chinese, representatives of Chinese companies and students. –0–
