Almaty, September 30 (Xinhua) — Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated via teleconference in the 7th New Silk Way International Transport and Logistics Business Forum and launched the second line of the Dostyk-Moiynty railway. This was reported on Tuesday by the Kazinform news agency.
The 836.1-kilometer highway plays a vital role in unlocking the country's transport and transit potential. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Transport, this project is a key area for developing transport and logistics infrastructure, improving transit capabilities, and strengthening connectivity with China.
K.-Z. Tokayev noted that after the second line is commissioned, the route's capacity will increase fivefold. "China is our eternal close neighbor and reliable ally. We unwaveringly support each other. Relations between our two nations are based on strong friendship and mutual trust. Our countries share a common vision for the future," the Kazakh leader emphasized.
Construction of the second line of the Dostyk-Moiynty railway began in November 2022. –0–
