City services specialists have begun repairing the underground pedestrian crossing at Komsomolskaya Square. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Public Works. Petr Biryukov.

"Maintaining pedestrian underpasses in good condition is a priority. Inspections are conducted regularly, and decisions are made on routine or major repairs when necessary. This year, we'll be renovating the underpass at Komsomolskaya Square, which is nearly 100 linear meters long. We plan to complete the repairs by the end of December," noted Pyotr Biryukov.

These works are being carried out in stages, so part of the structure is open to pedestrians. The project will include replacing the wall and column cladding, renovating the granite floor covering over 2,400 square meters, and reinforcing the floor slabs with special materials. Additionally, a new suspended ceiling covering over 1,300 square meters will be installed, and utility lines will be repaired.

Repairs to underground pedestrian crossings improve their safety and convenience, and create conditions for accident-free operation.
