Tbilisi, September 30 (Xinhua) — The Chinese Embassy in Georgia on Monday held a gala reception in Tbilisi to mark the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The reception was attended by representatives of the executive and legislative branches of Georgia, the diplomatic corps, the Chinese diaspora, and Chinese companies doing business in Georgia.
Speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian emphasized that in the 76 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Chinese people, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, have achieved historic success in the country's socio-economic development.
Zhou Qian noted that China and Georgia are reliable friends and partners, bound by mutual trust and support.
“Following the establishment of strategic partnership relations, political mutual trust between the two countries continues to strengthen, and trade and economic cooperation is demonstrating steady positive dynamics,” he said.
In his speech, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze expressed sincere congratulations to the Chinese people and praised the level of Georgian-Chinese relations. He praised China's achievements in peace and development and noted the importance of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
