Kyiv, September 30 /Xinhua/ — The Chinese Embassy in Ukraine held a reception in Kyiv on Monday to mark the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
More than 500 people attended, including Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Ma Shengkun, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis, representatives of the Ukrainian parliament, government, local authorities, educational institutions, and research centers. Also attending the event were members of the diplomatic corps of other countries, representatives of international organizations and Chinese companies operating in Ukraine, Chinese expatriates, and ethnic Chinese.
Speaking at the reception, Ma Shengkun highlighted China's significant achievements and stated that China's progress will create new opportunities for global development. According to the diplomat, China intends to work with all countries to implement the Global Governance Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, unwaveringly pursuing the path of peaceful development, upholding genuine multilateralism, promoting the democratization of international relations, and building a more rational international order.
China and Ukraine are strategic partners, Ma Shengkun stated, adding that Beijing hopes to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Kyiv for the benefit of the peoples of both countries and open new horizons in interstate relations. The ambassador emphasized that China is ready to continue playing a constructive role, alongside the international community, in ending the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict and achieving a fair, lasting, and binding peace agreement as soon as possible.
T. Kachka and E. Perebyinis praised China's significant development achievements, as well as the cooperation between Ukraine and China in political, trade, economic, cultural, and other spheres. They expressed gratitude to China for its support of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity and its humanitarian assistance. They stated that Kyiv is prepared to further expand its comprehensive cooperation with Beijing and hopes that China will make a positive contribution to the speedy achievement of peace in Ukraine.
