Almaty, September 29 (Xinhua) — Implementation of a gas project has begun at the Khairkeldy field in the Kyzylorda region of southern Kazakhstan, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Energy reported on Monday.
Initial gas production is reported to be approximately 8 million cubic meters per year, with subsequent increases to 24 million cubic meters. The project will provide natural gas to up to 70,000 people.
Gas from the Khairkeldy field will be sold under a new incentive formula agreed upon by the country's Ministry of Energy with the national gas company QazaqGaz. –0–
