BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) — China's cultural industry demonstrated continuous and stable development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Lu Yingchuan said on Monday.
As Lu Yingchuan announced at a press conference, the total assets of China's cultural industry will reach 34.4 trillion yuan (about 4.84 trillion US dollars) in 2024.
According to him, last year the total revenue of the cultural industry exceeded 19 trillion yuan, and the total profit amounted to 1.77 trillion yuan.
Lu Yingchuan also noted that over the past five years, China has made significant progress in enhancing the global influence of Chinese culture. In 2024, China's total trade in cultural goods will reach 1.4 trillion yuan, with cultural products such as games, animation, and designer toys increasingly enjoying popularity abroad.
