XICHANG, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) — China on Monday launched two new experimental satellites from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest Sichuan Province.

The Shiyan-30 01 and Shiyan-30 02 satellites were launched at 11:00 Beijing Time by a Long March-2D carrier rocket and successfully placed into their designated orbits.

The satellites will be primarily used for experimental testing of Earth observation technologies.

This launch was the 598th for the Long March series of launch vehicles. -0-
