Beijing, September 29 (Xinhua) — The first batch of master's students from Kazakhstan successfully graduated from the Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University of Science and Technology in Shaanxi Province, northwest China, majoring in trophology and technology.
The graduation ceremony for the joint Chinese-Kazakh master's degree program in trophology and technology took place last week, according to the university's official website.
The event was attended by the university's rector, Wu Puteh, and representatives of the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center and the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University. A total of four young Kazakhstanis received academic degrees from both universities.
This event marked another milestone in the program's implementation. As the first step taken by the Northwestern Scientific and Technical University of Agriculture and Forestry in collaboration with international universities, the program was officially launched in May 2023.
At the ceremony, Pute congratulated the master's students on successfully completing their master's programs and thanked the teachers for their hard work.
He urged young specialists to focus on cutting-edge trophology and technology and promote the modernization of the food industries in Kazakhstan and China. They should also promote intercultural exchanges between the two countries and advance bilateral cooperation through their actions.
The two-year master's program consists of two stages. The first stage, lasting one semester, is held at the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University, and the second at the North-West Scientific and Technical University of Agriculture and Forestry. Upon successful completion of exams and defense of their final theses, students receive a master's degree from both universities.
