Beijing, September 29 (Xinhua) — A women's interaction event between Chinese and Russian women was held in Manzhouli City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, north China, from September 25 to 26, according to a statement posted on the official website of the Manzhouli City Hall on Monday.
The event was attended by officials, female entrepreneurs, and representatives of various social circles from 14 regions and 34 cities in both countries. It aimed to deepen bilateral pragmatic cooperation, drawing on women's wisdom as a connecting link, and to inject new impetus into the development of Chinese-Russian relations by highlighting the special role of women.
In her speech at the event, Wang Fang, Chairperson of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Women's Federation, noted that women's federations will continue to play a leading role, provide strong support for exchanges and cooperation between women in China and Russia, and determine the direction of cooperation between the two countries.
In her speech, Valentina Podoinitsyna, Chair of the Trans-Baikal Regional Branch of the Union of Women of Russia, expressed hope for deepening cooperation and expanding the scope of interaction between women's organizations in the two countries.
Manzhouli Deputy Mayor Jiao Jie stated that Manzhouli, as an important hub for Chinese-Russian cooperation, will do its utmost to create a high-quality platform and favorable conditions for cooperation between female entrepreneurs of the two countries.
In her speech at the event, Chita Mayor Inna Shcheglova, noting the close proximity of Chita and Manzhouli, expressed hope that the event would be used as an opportunity for more fruitful cooperation between the two cities.
As part of ongoing collaboration between women in China and Russia, thematic seminars on economics and the humanities were held, with participants engaging in in-depth exchanges on issues such as industrial cooperation, trade collaboration, and cultural exchanges. At the subsequent document signing ceremony, Chinese and Russian companies reached consensus on a number of cooperation issues and formally signed contracts, translating the results of these exchanges into tangible cooperation projects and making a significant contribution to pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.
On September 26, the event participants also visited the border trade zone and the comprehensive bonded zone in Manzhouli, as well as the local food company "Hux" and the shopping mall "Friendship" to explore opportunities for developing mutual cooperation.
The two-day event fully demonstrated the important role of women in the socioeconomic development of China and Russia and created a platform for deepening cooperation between the two countries' regions and expanding exchanges between the peoples of the two countries. Participants pledged to use such events as a new starting point, continue to deepen cooperation in various fields, and enhance the role of women in the development of Chinese-Russian relations.
