Tbilisi, September 29 (Xinhua) — From August 1 to September 28 this year, Georgia exported 906 tons of apples worth $698,000, up 65 percent year-on-year, the Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported on Monday.
Compared to the same period in 2024, exports increased by 356 tons and their value by $357,000, which is equivalent to a 105% increase in value.
The average export price of 1 kg of apples during the reporting period was $0.77, which is 24 percent higher than last year.
Russia remains the main destination for Georgian apple exports, with 697 tons shipped there in the first two months. Additionally, 150 tons were exported to Belarus and 59 tons to Turkey. –0–
