BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) — China's banking sector's external financial assets exceeded $1.77 trillion as of the end of June 2025, according to statistics released Monday by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.

At the end of June, the sector's external financial liabilities amounted to approximately $1.54 trillion. Thus, external net financial assets reached $234.4 billion.

Chinese banks' deposit and loan assets exceeded $1.06 trillion, accounting for 60 percent of all external financial assets, while bond assets reached $452.6 billion, or 26 percent of the total.

In the structure of external financial liabilities of the Chinese banking sector, deposits and loans amounted to $676.1 billion, and bond liabilities amounted to $356.1 billion. –0–
