BEIJING, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) — Solving global challenges such as the climate crisis, the technological divide, and public health problems is beyond the power of any single country or civilization and requires joint efforts by all countries based on openness and inclusiveness, according to a report released Saturday by the Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with the Xinhua News Agency.

The report, entitled “The Theory of Civilization Development: A Look into the Formation of a New Concept of Civilization Based on Development,” was released at an international academic symposium held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, southern China.

Openness and inclusiveness are inexhaustible drivers of civilizational development, while closure and exclusivity inevitably lead to stagnation and decline, the report notes.

All forms of closed and exclusive “blocks,” regardless of their outer shell, invariably become shackles that limit the flow of ideas, the distribution of resources, and overall progress, the document emphasizes.

According to the report, only through resolutely removing barriers, openness to the world, mutual learning, and the free circulation, integration, and mixing of development engines in an open and inclusive environment can the creative potential and vitality of civilizations be continuously unleashed, continuing to guide human civilization toward a more prosperous and progressive future. -0-
