Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko attended the ceremonial opening of a Buddhist Sunday school. It will operate at the renovated Kalmyk National Gymnasium in Elista.

The Deputy Prime Minister wished all the students success in their studies. He expressed confidence that the opportunities opened up in the country by the national projects established at the President's behest will be realized at the highest level.
"We are fulfilling the instructions and guidance of our President, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and are contributing to the development of Buddhist education. We are working to ensure that secular and Buddhist approaches to education unite, bringing goodness and knowledge, and opening the way to harmony. This is the enormous work of our fellow countrymen and those who have come from other regions. They understand that they are serving a special and very important mission," said Batu Khasikov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia.
Classes at the Buddhist school are taught personally by the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choydak. He will introduce young students to key concepts of Buddhism. The curriculum includes the study of Buddhist logic. A separate course is devoted to the Old Kalmyk script, "Todo Bichig."
The Deputy Prime Minister attended a celebratory performance by the school's students, toured the school's themed museum exhibit dedicated to the history of Buddhism, and left a symbolic wish for prosperity and success for future generations on the school tree.
Dmitry Chernyshenko assessed the infrastructure of the first phygital center in the Southern Federal District. The center opened in September 2024 as part of the federal project "Business Sprint." Since then, more than 50 phygital and eSports events have been held, and over the past year, over 12,000 people have participated in the center's events.
At the B.B. Gorodovikov Youth Center, which was renovated in 2024, the Deputy Prime Minister met with activists of youth projects and programs, volunteers, members of the "Movement of the First," and representatives of the "Voin" center. The facility, which covers over 1,200 square meters, houses the Republican Youth Center, the regional headquarters of the "Movement of the First," the "Khamdan" association, and a branch of the "Volunteers of Victory."
Dmitry Chernyshenko thanked the volunteers who assist the SVO participants and participate in organizing and holding the International Buddhist Forum. He was also shown the office-museum of Hero of the Soviet Union Basan Gorodovikov, after whom the center is named.
Dmitry Chernyshenko assessed the progress of the reconstruction of the republic's multifunctional youth center, which is being carried out as part of the all-Russian "Region for the Young" program. It will house a branch of the "Movement of the First," creative clubs, and patriotic associations. Plans include creating exhibition spaces and preserving the chess museum named after world chess champion Mikhail Tal.
