URUMQI, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) — Flight CZ6069, which took off from Tianshan Airport in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on Friday, marked the official resumption of direct flights between the region and Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

This route is currently the only direct passenger flight between this Chinese autonomous region and Dubai, which will contribute to the further development of trade and economic cooperation and humanitarian exchanges between the two regions.

Flights will be operated by China Southern Airlines' Xinjiang branch on Thursdays and Sundays. Flight CZ6069 will depart Urumqi at 11:50 PM Beijing time and arrive in Dubai at 2:15 AM local time. The return flight, CZ6070, will depart Dubai at 4:10 AM local time and land in Urumqi the following day at 1:40 PM Beijing time.

In recent years, Xinjiang has been actively developing its air route network, significantly increasing its accessibility. Currently, there are 595 civilian air routes operating in Xinjiang, including 25 international passenger routes, connecting the region with 17 countries and regions worldwide.
