Moscow, September 25 (Xinhua) — Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom has a total portfolio of 30 nuclear power plant units under construction, Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office and Chairman of Rosatom's Supervisory Board, said Thursday at the World Atomic Week international forum.
"Rosatom is one of the leaders in the global nuclear industry. Currently, of the 28 nuclear power units currently under construction worldwide, 22 are being built by Rosatom. Rosatom's total portfolio of nuclear power plants under construction simultaneously in Russia and abroad currently stands at 30 units," Kiriyenko said.
According to him, Russia has always strived for the most open and trusting relationships with all partners, demonstrating a willingness to transfer technology and knowledge, create joint ventures, and jointly implement projects in third countries.
"We are confident that this is precisely how, and not through restrictions, embargoes, or sanctions, modern technologies should develop, bringing development, security, and prosperity to people around the world," noted S. Kiriyenko.
The World Atomic Week International Forum is the largest event dedicated to the nuclear and related industries, marking the 80th anniversary of Russia's nuclear industry. Representatives from more than 100 countries are participating in World Atomic Week events in Moscow.
