Tehran, September 25 (Xinhua) — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron held talks on Wednesday on the Tehran nuclear issue and bilateral relations. The Iranian presidential office reported that the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
M. Pezeschkian emphasized that Iran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons. He expressed his readiness to negotiate with European parties on the nuclear issue within an "acceptable" framework.
Emmanuel Macron, for his part, expressed his readiness to work to prevent an escalation of the situation.
