Bishkek, September 25 (Xinhua) — A themed concert dedicated to Chinese-Kyrgyz friendship was held at the Manas Kyrgyz National Theater in Bishkek on Tuesday. Artists from the Kizilsu Song and Dance Ensemble of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR, northwest China) performed.
In her speech, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Liu Jiangping noted that the Manas folk epic is a gem of world epic literature and represents the shared cultural heritage of China and Kyrgyzstan. She spoke in detail about the importance of the Global Civilization Initiative, expressing her willingness to deepen cultural exchanges with Kyrgyzstan, jointly research and preserve the Manas national epic, strengthen mutual understanding between the two peoples, and advance the construction of a Chinese-Kyrgyz community with a shared future.
Kyrgyz State Secretary Marat Imankulov and First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Soyuzbek Nadyrbekov also attended and spoke at the event. The Kyrgyz side praised the development of relations between Kyrgyzstan and China, noted China's efforts to preserve the Manas epic, thanked the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Kyzylsu-Kirghiz Autonomous Region of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region for performing in Kyrgyzstan, and expressed its readiness to continuously strengthen humanitarian cooperation with China and the traditional friendship between the two countries.
The concert was warmly received by the audience. "I really enjoyed the concert. The dancers' movements, the magnificent costumes, and the beautiful sets left a deep impression on me," remarked Gulnara Eshenalieva, a teacher at a Bishkek school. She believed the concert embodied the friendship between China and Kyrgyzstan, using culture as a bridge to bring the peoples of the two countries closer together. "I hope there will be more concerts like this in the future," she said.
