Discounts on many types of fish and seafood, as well as festive tastings, await visitors to the fish market. Moscow is on the wave in Mitino from September 25th to 28th. Organizers have prepared a special event for the venue's birthday—it opened here exactly a year ago and became the second such market and a continuation of the project in Kosino-Ukhtomsky.

The location of the second market was deliberate: the Mitino district is located far from Kosino-Ukhtomsky, where the first fish market operated. This made the project convenient for residents of various parts of the capital and for visitors from the Moscow region. Its proximity to the Moscow Ring Road and several major highways also creates a comfortable environment for those who frequently travel out of town or transit through Moscow.

The design was based on the experience of the first location. The new market is single-story, with the most popular departments—"Caviar," "Smoked Delicacies," and "Seledochka"—located near the entrance. The several thousand square meters of the site are equipped with retail stalls, storage areas with different temperatures, a food court, a masterclass studio, and a laboratory for product quality testing.

Discounts and tastings during the holiday

For its first anniversary, the "Moscow on the Wave" market in Mitino has prepared some special surprises. From September 25th to 28th, you can buy a wide variety of fish and seafood at a 10% discount. Items include canned and prepared foods, Atlantic salmon steaks, green mussels, Chinook salmon, Commander squid, Kamchatka crab, and scallops. And on September 27th and 28th, guests can participate in festive tastings of northern fish, stroganina, sugudai, and chebureki filled with tender cod.

A year of fruitful work

Every week, the market in Mitino hosts children's master classes. Under the guidance of experienced chefs, young cooks prepare simple fish dishes that are easy to recreate at home. Over the course of a year, approximately 12,000 children attended these events. Dishes prepared include vinaigrette with anchovies and arugula, grilled squid, shrimp with watermelon, and mushroom stew with pike perch.

The market quickly gained popularity and became a place for family leisure and friendly gatherings. Live music is performed on the stage on Friday and weekend evenings.

Additionally, the free "Cook on the Spot" service has become popular: upon customer request, chefs can fry or bake freshly purchased fish and seafood, as well as help properly fillet a sea urchin or open oysters.

One of the main reasons for the project's success is its wide selection, including 600 high-quality fish and seafood items from Russia's key fishing regions. During the market's first year in Mitino, Murmansk shrimp, live carp, and pink salmon caviar became top sellers.

In addition to fish and seafood delicacies, guests can purchase accompanying products—for example, an unusual "live" pasta that pairs perfectly with shrimp, trout, and other seafood. Fresh pasta cooks faster than regular pasta and has a richer flavor. A wide selection of spices for various seafood dishes is also available on the shelves.

Social initiatives and support

The market, suppliers, and customers also participate in various social initiatives. For example, suppliers regularly help residents of border areas, military personnel on the front lines, and those undergoing treatment in hospitals. The "Moscow – on the Wave" market itself offers participants in the Special Military Operation (SVO) a permanent 10 percent discount on all products, and organizes cooking master classes for the children of military personnel.

Visitors to the site actively participated in a charity drive to purchase canned goods for donations to the front. Customers have already sent about a thousand cans of sprat, kilka, mackerel, herring, cod liver, and cod roe to the soldiers.

The results of the site's first year of operation demonstrated that a highly specialized market could become a popular destination for city residents, combining trade, educational initiatives, and a social mission. During this time, the market has provided Muscovites and visitors to the capital with high-quality seafood from across the country and fostered a culture of conscious consumption through tastings, master classes, and educational events.

Combining culinary diversity with a socially significant mission, it has become an important element of the city's infrastructure. It combines support for domestic producers, educational outreach, and a unique atmosphere that makes buying fish and seafood a pleasant and healthy habit. Moscow has retained its status as a port, but no longer at the seven, but at 13 seas and three oceans that border Russia.
