Changsha, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang called for expanding the global application of China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System to benefit people around the world.
Ding Xuexiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the call on Wednesday at the opening ceremony of the 4th International Summit on the Large-Scale Application of the BeiDou System in Zhuzhou City, central China's Hunan Province.
The Chinese vice premier noted that after 31 years of development, China's BeiDou system has entered a new phase of global application with the launch of BeiDou-3 in 2020. He stated that with its completely updated service characteristics and comprehensively expanded application, BeiDou has become an important new infrastructure for users worldwide.
As Ding Xuexiang emphasized, China intends to further develop the Beidou System, which in the future will have even more advanced technologies, even more powerful functions, and improved services to more fully meet the needs of socio-economic development and people's needs for a better life. –0–
