BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) — Wu Cunrong, former secretary of the leading party group of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in North China's Shanxi Province and chairman of the committee, has been charged with bribery, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Wednesday.

The prosecutor's indictment states that Wu Qunrong, while holding a number of positions in the provinces of Anhui and Shanxi, as well as in the city of Chongqing, abused his official position to benefit others and received money and material assets from them on an especially large scale.

The Second Branch of the Beijing People's Prosecutor's Office has filed a criminal case against him, and the case will be heard by the Second Intermediate People's Court of the same city. -0-
