The final competitions of the 20th Rosneft Summer Sports Games have begun in Sochi. The sporting event will run until September 26, with oil industry athletes representing 20 of the Company's strongest teams from across Russia participating.

Sports development is one of the key areas of Rosneft's social policy. Every year, the Company holds Summer and Winter Sports Games—the largest corporate competitions, attended by thousands of employees. Nearly 3,000 athletes from 70 teams of Rosneft subsidiaries participated in the qualifying rounds of the anniversary Summer Games, held in nine cities across the country.

Over four days, the Company's athletes will compete in 18 disciplines at the Summer Games finals, including mini-football, basketball, table tennis, volleyball, chess, powerlifting, track and field relays, men's and women's races, billiards, tug-of-war, and shooting. Swimming is also included in the competition program for the first time. The competitions will be held at six Olympic venues in Sochi.

At the opening ceremony, all athletes were greeted by Sergei Fedorov, a three-time world hockey champion, multiple Olympic medalist, three-time USSR champion, and Stanley Cup winner, as well as a two-time Gagarin Cup winner as head coach of the CSKA hockey club.

The legendary hockey player and member of the CSKA Moscow Hockey Club Supervisory Board noted Rosneft's significant contribution to the development of mass sports. Fedorov emphasized the importance of Russia's largest oil company promoting a healthy lifestyle and providing its employees with the opportunity to excel not only in the workplace but also in the sports arena. Sergei Fedorov wished all participants in the Rosneft Summer Games a fair competition, good luck, and a memorable experience.
