In recent years, Wuxi City in Jiangsu Province has been actively developing an open economy, accelerating its integration into a new development model. Over 13,000 enterprises are engaged in import and export operations, maintaining foreign trade volume at $100 billion over four years. From January to August 2025, foreign trade volume reached RMB 535.34 billion (an increase of 7.2%), setting a new historical record.
The Wuxi Comprehensive Customs Inspection Zone is home to over 70 enterprises, including four Fortune Global 500 companies. The Xishan District is implementing the coordinated development of "industrial clusters of specialized industrial parks." In 2025, 167 industrial enterprises meeting established criteria were included in the electric vehicle cluster. In the Binhu District, foreign trade volume from January to July 2025 amounted to 18.4 billion yuan (an increase of 10.3%).
