Beijing, September 23 (Xinhua) — A trade fair showcasing products from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of northern China was recently held in Chita, the capital of Russia's Zabaikalsky Krai. The event, organized as a "products exhibition and project presentation," served as a platform for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the regions of the two countries.
According to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region government website, the exhibition showcased hundreds of products, including automotive equipment, agricultural products and foodstuffs, new materials, household and outdoor products, daily necessities, construction materials, cross-border logistics services, and unmanned aerial vehicle equipment.
Representatives of Chinese companies focused on key areas, presenting three main projects: used cars, agricultural machinery, as well as household goods and building materials, which attracted the attention of numerous local entrepreneurs.
Inner Mongolia and the Zabaikalsky Krai, with their close geographic proximity and close ties, are actively developing cooperation. Chita, as the administrative center of the Zabaikalsky Krai, enjoys a favorable geographical location, serving as an important transportation hub connecting western and eastern Russia with China and the countries of Southeast Asia, creating natural advantages for economic cooperation between the two regions.
"This event, building on these advantages and characteristics of industrial complementarity, uses commodity trade as a starting point and aims to explore opportunities for deeper industrial cooperation. As an important bridgehead for China's northward opening, Inner Mongolia has always actively promoted trade and economic exchanges with neighboring regions of Russia. We hope that this event will inject new impetus and open up new prospects for trade and economic cooperation between the regions of China and Russia," stated a representative of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's Commerce Department. -0-
