BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) — A total of 136 works were displayed at a China-Russia photography and oil painting exhibition that recently opened in Tongjiang City, Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, chinanews.com.cn reported.

The event is part of the 3rd China-Russia Season of Regional Culture and Art in Heilongjiang Province. Works by photographers and artists from China and Russia showcase the unique regional cultures and ethnic customs of the two countries, creating a visual bridge for cultural exchanges for visitors.

"Here we can experience the charm of Chinese and Russian art up close. We exchanged views with our Russian colleagues on the use of color and toning. We hope to have more opportunities for discussion in the future," said Li Li, director of the Tongjiang Qihang Art School.

Prior to the exhibition's opening, oil painting enthusiasts from China and Russia held a three-day life-painting event in several scenic areas of Tongjiang City to capture the unique local autumn landscapes with brushes.

The exhibition was organized by the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and will run until September 26. -0-
