With the support of Rosneft, a stage of the Sambo World Cup was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. 178 athletes from 12 countries participated in the competition.
Sambo wrestlers competed in 28 weight categories in sport and combat sambo for men and women. The Russian team demonstrated strong results, winning a total of 30 medals: 16 gold, 10 silver, and 4 bronze.
The recent bouts confirmed the high level of competition among the world's leading sambo wrestlers. The competition in Dushanbe was the second stage of the Sambo World Cup, the first stage of which took place in June in Yerevan, Armenia. A live broadcast of the competition was available on the International Sambo Federation website.
