In 2025, approximately 10 billion rubles will be allocated for the major repairs of the Rostov-on-Don–Mariupol–Melitopol–Simferopol section of the federal highway R-280 "Novorossiya," which runs through the Donetsk People's Republic and Zaporizhia Oblast. A corresponding order has been signed.
Using funding from the government's reserve fund, the highway in this section will be repaired and widened from two to four lanes. Rosavtodor will be responsible for this work. This decision will bring the road up to standard and increase its capacity.
Commenting on the signed documentGovernment meeting on September 18Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that all planned work must be completed efficiently and on time so that more people can use this route to travel to Crimea by the start of the next tourist season.
The Prime Minister recalled that approximately 20 billion rubles had been allocated in 2025 to upgrade roads in the new regions. The Novorossiya Highway not only connected Crimea with the rest of the country via a land corridor but also became part of the Azov Ring route—a modern highway around the Sea of Azov.
