Nanning, September 22 (Xinhua) — The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit concluded on Sunday in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, south China. Agreements on more than 500 trade and economic projects were signed during the events.

Wei Zhaohui, Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, said at a press conference on Sunday that agreements on 155 investment projects were signed during this year's event, including 74 projects in the manufacturing industry, accounting for 88 percent of the total investment.

According to Wei Zhaohui, the specified projects in the manufacturing industry cover such sectors as mechanical engineering and equipment, petrochemical and chemical industries, non-ferrous metals, new materials, light industry and textiles, as well as information technology.

The five-day EXPO covered 160,000 square meters of exhibition space and attracted 3,260 enterprises from 60 countries. Of these, 627 were from ASEAN countries.

For the first time at EXPO, a pavilion dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) was created, which presented approximately 1,200 exhibits, including approximately 20 large language models and 60 intelligent robots.

According to the preliminary plan, the 23rd Expo will be held from September 17 to 21, 2026, with the Philippines as the theme country. -0-
