Moscow, September 21 (Xinhua) — The Intervision International Music Competition concluded in Moscow on Saturday. Participants from more than 20 countries, including China, Russia, Qatar, India, Cuba, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Madagascar, and others, performed in the final.

"I am confident that the competition will become one of the most recognizable and beloved throughout the world, because through dialogue and mutual respect, and through strengthening trust between cultures, we become spiritually richer," Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his video address on the occasion of the competition.

He also added that the competition aims to demonstrate the unifying power of art.

"Nations have the right to free development and to preserve their identity. People strive to communicate and better understand the cultures of other countries," Vladimir Putin added.

Singer Wang Xi represented China. "Russia and China are countries with vast cultures. We respect each other's cultures and will become a bridge of friendship for the entire world," he said after his performance.

The winner of Intervision was determined by an international professional jury consisting of recognized music experts from each of the participating countries.

The main prize, a crystal cup, went to a singer from Vietnam.

The next Intervision contest is planned to be held in Saudi Arabia in 2026. –0–
