BEIJING, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) — China's Ministry of Commerce recently gathered representatives from local governments, enterprises, industry associations, and research institutes to discuss lifting restrictions on the automotive aftermarket to further unlock consumer potential.
According to a statement released Friday, China's Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping made the remarks while chairing a symposium on the development of the automobile after-sales service market and the reform of automobile circulation.
According to him, the ministry is implementing a national plan to stimulate consumption by launching pilot reforms in the automotive circulation sector. This initiative aims to support eligible cities in deepening reforms, implementing innovations, and testing new measures to revitalize the vehicle aftermarket.
Discussions at the symposium focused on areas such as vehicle modification, trailer camping, motorsports, classic cars and automobile museums.
Representatives from other central government departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the General Administration of Customs, and the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China, also attended the meeting and responded to questions and suggestions made by the participants.
Representatives of companies and associations participating in the event expressed their readiness to actively promote the high-quality development of the automotive aftermarket. -0-
