BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — Xinjiang has made historic achievements in various fields over the past 70 years, Erkin Tuniyaz, chairman of the people's government of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, said Friday at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office.
Xinjiang has entered a historical period characterized by the best development, the most significant changes and the achievement of the greatest benefits for people of all ethnic groups, he noted.
At the press conference, a white paper entitled “The CPC’s Strategy for Governing Xinjiang in the New Era: Practice and Achievements” was released.
