Tbilisi, September 19 (Xinhua) — Kyrgyzstan became Georgia's largest export destination in January-August 2025, while the United States was the main source of imports, the Georgian National Statistics Office reported on Friday.

According to preliminary data from the agency, Georgia's ten largest export partners accounted for 79.8 percent of the country's total exports. Kyrgyzstan ranked first among the largest export destinations, with $943.1 million. Kazakhstan ranked second with $572.9 million, and Russia ranked third with $480.7 million.

Regarding imports, the ten largest partners accounted for 71.3 percent of all Georgian imports. The top three were the United States with $1.8 billion, Turkey ($1.78 billion), and China ($1.23 billion).

Among export goods, passenger cars led the way ($1.73 billion or 38.9 percent of total exports), followed by precious metal ores and concentrates ($239.1 million) and alcoholic beverages ($172 million).

The main import item was also passenger cars /2.42 billion dollars or 20.5 percent of all imports/, followed by oil and oil products /846.1 million dollars/, and hand-painted paintings and pastels /481.4 million dollars/. –0–
