BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — The sixth China-Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) High-Level Defense Forum was held in Beijing on Friday, with defense and military officials from China and 18 LAC countries pledging to deepen security cooperation.
Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun delivered a keynote speech at the forum, noting that China is willing to work with LAC countries to build defense relations characterized by a high level of mutual trust, flexibility, pragmatism, greater resilience, and closer ties.
Dong Jun said that through such efforts, China and LAC countries can create a model for security cooperation among countries in the Global South and make new and more significant contributions to building a China-LAC community with a shared future.
Representatives of the LAC countries noted at the forum that they regard China as a reliable friend and partner and look forward to further strengthening mutual trust and friendship with the Chinese Armed Forces, as well as deepening exchanges and cooperation. -0-
