SANAA, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — Yemen's Houthi militia said it launched a long-range "hypersonic ballistic missile" and three drones at three Israeli cities on Thursday evening.
Speaking on the rebel-controlled Al-Masirah TV channel, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria said a missile hit a military target in the city of Jaffa (Tel Aviv), and three drones attacked the city of Beersheba and the port city of Eilat.
“Eilat will remain a permanent target of our military operations,” said Ya. Saria.
According to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), a drone struck a hotel in Eilat and damaged its gate, while the missile and other drones launched from Yemen were intercepted. There were no reports of casualties.
According to Israeli media, air raid sirens sounded in several areas of central Israel, including Tel Aviv, forcing millions of people to take refuge in shelters.
